Privacy Policy

We keep only what BotDen needs to sign you in, run your bots, process billing, and protect the platform. We do not sell your data, and optional advertising measurement follows your privacy choice.

Information we collect

When you use BotDen, we collect the account, bot, and billing data required to operate the product responsibly.

  • Sign-in account data: provider user ID, name, avatar, and any email address provided through Discord, Google, or X authentication.
  • Discord guild data: server IDs and basic guild details for servers where you configure or install BotDen bots.
  • Bot configuration: bot names, command files, event handlers, module settings, and environment variables you provide.
  • Payment information: Stripe handles payment details directly. We store Stripe customer IDs and subscription state, not raw card or bank numbers.
  • Usage data: deployment logs, command analytics, and platform activity used to operate the service and investigate failures or abuse.
  • Advertising measurement data: ad interaction identifiers, consent choices, and a one-time account sign-up conversion when Google Ads measurement is enabled.
  • Communication data: your product-update and bot-notification preferences, when and where an optional product-email choice was recorded, and delivery status for operational notices.

How we use it

  • Operate BotDen, including workspace access, bot hosting, and module management.
  • Process subscriptions and billing through Stripe.
  • Enforce plan limits, security controls, and anti-abuse protections.
  • Respond to account issues, support requests, and service updates.
  • Deliver essential service-recovery notices and record and honor your choices before any optional communication is sent.
  • Improve the platform through aggregated product and runtime signals.
  • Measure whether BotDen advertising leads to account activation, subject to your privacy choices.

Communications and your choices

BotDen uses your recorded preferences to determine which optional communications you may receive. BotDen may also deliver narrowly scoped operational notices through Discord when needed to restore or maintain your bots:

  • Account, security, deletion, and billing-critical notices are operational messages connected to the service or actions you request.
  • A bot-specific operational Discord notice may be sent by that bot using the token you configured, or by the official BotDen bot when available. BotDen records delivery attempts to prevent duplicate incident notices.
  • Product news, offers, and bot-building tips require an explicit opt-in. The signup checkbox is optional and unchecked by default.
  • Bot notifications combine health alerts and reminders about errored, restarting, stopped, unfinished, or inactive bots. They are enabled by default for new and existing accounts and can be disabled at any time.
  • You can change optional choices at any time from the Account preferences page. A future email sender must also provide a simple unsubscribe mechanism.

Sharing and disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. Data is shared only where the product requires it or where law requires it.

  • Stripe: payment processing and subscription handling.
  • Discord, Google, and X: account authentication; Discord also provides bot API connectivity and server authorization where those features require it.
  • Google Ads: consent-aware advertising measurement used to understand campaign performance.
  • Public bot profiles: if you mark a bot public, its public-facing profile data may be visible to other users.
  • Legal requirements: we may disclose information when required by law or to protect BotDen, its users, or the platform infrastructure.

Data security

  • Discord bot tokens are encrypted at rest.
  • Connections to BotDen are protected over HTTPS/TLS.
  • Bot processes run in isolated workspaces so platform secrets are not exposed to user code.
  • Payment data is handled by Stripe rather than stored on BotDen servers.
  • Resource controls are enforced to limit abuse and service instability.

Retention and rights

We retain account data while your account remains active. Bot logs are kept for up to 30 days. When you delete a bot, its files, logs, and deployment history are removed. When you delete your account, associated data is deleted subject to legal or billing retention requirements.

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate account information.
  • Request deletion of your data where applicable.
  • Request an export of your data in a portable format.
  • Withdraw consent for data processing where consent is the legal basis.

Cookies, advertising, and contact

BotDen uses essential session cookies for authentication and a short-lived cookie to carry your optional product-email choice through Discord sign-in. When Google Ads measurement is enabled, advertising storage, user data, and personalization default to denied in the EEA, United Kingdom, and Switzerland until you allow them. They may default to enabled elsewhere where a consent banner is not required. Before you choose, Google may receive limited cookieless measurement signals, and Google Ads click parameters may be carried in page URLs during the same visit without BotDen setting an advertising cookie. If you allow advertising measurement, Google may then use advertising storage to attribute visits and completed account sign-ups. If you reject it, those consent signals remain denied. You can change your choice at any time with the Privacy choices control.

BotDen does not sell personal information. For privacy-related questions or requests, contact botden@botden.app.
